Cashmere Shawl French Art Nouveau. Villa Rosemaine

Around 1855-1870

France (Paris or Lyon)

Shawl Jacquard loom woven French Solid Bottom (no reserve center) that showcases his paisley design harbinger of Art Nouveau. Woven in seven colors with arcades, wreaths, palms outstretched, rosettes give free rein to the creativity of the Second Empire decoration cashmere. Very good condition.

Dimensions 325 cm X 176 cm.

Pros:

Its originality, the contrast of his designs and colors. Weaving end and searched. The full background shawls are uncommon. The quality of its design suggests that the shawl was made in a large house in Paris.

Cons:

A very few tiny moth holes invisible to the naked eye.
