This particular site of Jukurrpa Yankirri (Dream emu [Dromaius novaehollandiae]) is Ngarlikurlangu, north of Yuendumu. The "yankirri" traveled to the hole in the rock that is Ngarlikurlangu to find water. This story belongs to men Jukurrpa Jangala / Jampijinpa and women Nangala / Nampijinpa.

In contemporary Warlpiri paintings traditional iconography is used to represent the Jukurrpa, related sites and other elements. Emus are generally represented by their "wirliya (fingerprints), shapes like arrows that show them walking around while eating Ngarlikurlangu" yakajirri (grapes from Bush [Central Solanum]). At the time of Jukurrpa there was a fight between an ancestor to Ngarlikiurlangu "yankirri" and an ancestor Wardilyka (Australian bustard [Ardeotis australis]) on the sharing of "Yakajirri. There is also a dance for this Jukurrpa that is performed during initiation ceremonies.
