The rest of the Lion King

For this watercolor of a lion resting in the shade of a tree, I worked mainly about me on a moist support making it more delicate mixture of pigments and the rendering of a set embedded in a nearly identical shade. I love painting animals, particularly wild animals trying and by the look and the pose of giving a sense of closeness. This one sits quietly looking out onto his lionesses and waiting for a meal that will certainly find it without much fatigue ..
