Exceptionally large earthenware dish in Haarlem (Netherlands), Willem Jansz workshop. Verstraeten, dating from 1640-1660.
Great decor in blue and white: «a raffaelesche» on the wing, arms fantasy center. Holes
suspension of origin setback (enamel coated).
Very rare example of European earthenware before the great era of Delft. Museum quality.
A dish similar (but not identical) is at the Museum of Ceramics in Sevres, another in the Netherlands in the collection van Drecht in Amsterdam (in Sèvres presentation at the exhibition «The European faience in the seventeenth century. triumph of Delft, November 2003 - February 2004).

State: excellent (note: two small égrenures along on top, + a few very small jumps of enamel on the edge on the reverse. Several very fine cracks of the enamel. An air bubble of origin). No crack, no hair, no compensation..
