Yarla jukurrpa (bush potato dreaming). Amanda Nakamarra Curtis Galerie Gondwana
The Dream - Jukurrpa - is associated with a place called Cockatoo Creek, which lies east of Yuendumu in the Northern Territory. The
Yarl (potato bush, Ipomea costata) are famous. Tubers grown in a floor covering, and are found in the crevices of the soil near the plant. The
Jukurrpa says that the ancestors and Wapirtis Yarl (carrots of Bush, Vigna lanceolata) competed here. The specific place is a water point, Mulju called Ngarparapunyu. The curved lines are Kuruwarri (drawing ceremony) representing the Ngamarna (vine-like tendrils) from where the flowers grow Jinjirla.

This dream is for women Napaljarri / Nungarrayi and men Japaljarri / Jungarrayi.
