Wardapi jukurrpa (goanna soñando). Ingrid Napangardi Williams Galerie Gondwana
The Dream (Jukurrpa) Wardapi (goanna [Varanus gouldii] Dreaming) has Yarripilangku, south west of Yuendumu, central Australian desert. It tells the story of a group of women Kärnter (Warlpiri women) sitting in a circle. A man from Mt Theo, many skin Japangardi named Wamaru, came to see women.
Ocher is always found on top of these hills and is used today for body paint in ceremonies and for the magic associated with love.
This Dream (jukurrpa) belongs to the names of skins Napaljarri / Japaljarri and Nungarrayi / Jungarrayi. It is also for the people of Mt Theo names skins Japanangka / Napanangka, Japangardi / Napangardi.
