The city is known for its temples carved into the rock. There are four more a natural cave. Two of them are dedicated to Vishnu, Shiva and another to the last one is a Jain temple.
In the first temple of Vishnu, there is a statue of Varaha and Vamana, two of the avatars of Vishnu.
In the Shiva temple is a representation of a Nataraja to 18 arms and 81 poses.
These caves overlooking the large pool of Agastyatirtha (photo) dug in the fifth century and at the edge of which are the two temples Bhutanatha.
