Hanuman, the monkey god, is the son of Wind, Vayu, a Vedic God, and also Dikpala. His mother is an immortal Apsara named Anjana who had taken the form of a female monkey. Hanuman has a steel body and mind of a yogi. His physical bravery, his mental discipline and spiritual purity have earned him many admirers. This is a great devotee of Vishnu and the legends featuring occur mainly in the Ramayana.
