Paraganj or Paharganj is a neighborhood of Delhi located west of New Delhi Railway Station. In recent years, it is popular with travelers with small budgets, whether Indians or foreigners. The area is full of small restaurants, in fact, bazaars and cheap hotels, which are growing exponentially since the arrival of the hippie movement in India in the 1970s. Under the Mughal empire, Paharganj was one of five markets of the city and the only one located outside the walls.
