Picasso was a major “Superstar” in his adopted town of Vallauris where his making of pottery at Madoura had brought mucvh prosperity to the area. He was well liked by the local population and had many friends such as the Torreador Miguel Dominguin. Dominguín married in 1955 with Lucia Bosé in Las Vegas, after a courtship of three months. Dominguin had a fsmous story about Picasso: when they went to lunch Picasso always paid with a check because he knew the owner bank the artists cheque but would keep them and frame them!
