Le centaire de la naissance de Chagall celebre a Moscou

Silver Gelatin print, 1987. The typed inscription verso says this was produced for the centenary exhibition held at Moscow. Verso is a stamp from agip - Robert Cohen.

Note: The photograph shows the artist in a white jacket holding his hat and standing in front of a large work of art painted by himself. The artist had died only 2 years before this seminal show of his works took place in his native Russia. More then 250 paintings, prints and drawings by the artist were exhibited. The guest of honour was Valentina Chagall, the artist; ’ widow.
