Autumn bonsai, wire tree sculpture

Created with 18.20.26 gauge galvanized steel wire. The end of each wire is then hammered flat to form the shape of a small leaf. The hundreds of leaves are hand painted with enamel paint in yellows, golds and reds to create a «fire» of Autumn colors. Two antique clay brick pieces are used to visually stabilize the tree structure into a dark green rectangular glazed ceramic container. The tree sculpture is planted into a lawn of sea sand and pebbles which are painted with India ink to give the appearance of moss covered earth. The India ink and enamel paint are «light fast» so the piece can be displayed in direct sun light, and the colors will not fade.
