Single draw - to test the gum bichromate on cardboard watercolor - signed.
Gum bichromate is an alternative process discovered and developed in 1850, rather difficult to master on many parameters (chemical nature of the paper, temperature, type of pigment, applying the emulsion) this process can produce prints unique photographic record with a pictorial and a close race to the etching.
The layering can bring color to draw
Once the test has dried, the pigments are trapped in the gum and imbedded in the paper, which gives the test durability and stability.
Fabien Cayer is a follower of alternative photographic processes since its passage in the School of Art in 1994. (Paper salty, polaroid, gum bichromate… )
The object (toys, household utensils, contents of drawers… ) Is the main theme of the artist, subject of his everyday object proximity, object often very trivial in the eyes of all graphically puts it on stage in his large prints.
