A pair of ormolu candelabras

A pair of gilt and chiseled bronze candelabra with four removable arms of light. Each candelabra rests on a round base decorated with flowers in diamond-shaped. The stem alternates striations and bands of flowers. The sconce has the same decor of flowers as the base. Three of the four arms of light are decorated with foliage scrolls. The fourth central arm is flared and decorated with vegetable motifs. Under the Restauration, the decorative arts are pleasant, kind to delight the public and not to exalt the heroism. A sober decor, reflecting the peace and sweetness of life follows the warrior symbols of the Empire.
