This is one of the rare cult statues associated with Nefertiti.
Far from the usual clichés representing the beautiful, mysterious wife of the pharoah Akhnaton by her face alone, this suggestive work probably shows her advancing toward Aton, the one god of her husband's monotheistic religion, with her eyes closed and her right hand raised in a sign of respect.
