Fine ever ready Mahogany Cased Signalling Box Lamp, c1880 1900

A very interesting, believed rare, circa 1900 solid mahogany box torch lamp lantern, very robust construction, will brass corner reinforcements. Solid brass handle, mica top plate, with a leather clad press on-switch button, which acts as a Morse key, switches the light on & off when pressed and released. On addition there is brass standard rocker on/off switch on the front top plate. It was likely used in the military, marine or transportation for signalling purposes
This is a chunky lamp measuring 5» X 4.75 7» high = -12.5cm X 12cm X18cm excluding the handle.
