Concept:
The performance is conceived as a continuation of the artistic process, as live-art creation refers even more specifically to life. The Theme of Life is spun and weaved in different aspects, as a spun-metaphor. The writing of Jaan creates a continuous text, etymologically referring to a weaving process (‘Text’ comes from the latin textum which meant ‘Weaving’). This process is continued by the movement of the dancer, whose body becomes like a shuttle which makes travel the threads between the walls. The installation-process raises the concepts of Space and Time- the bare conditions of life existence-, to a materialistic-realistic level with the accumulation of ‘traces’ of gestures. The red colour is chosen for her universality referring to spirituality, protection, passion, love, blood, … I. E. To life. The weaving allegory opens the comprehension of Life as a process, the process of different entities encountering one-another to create something new. Weaving between cultures and between generations (a specificity of the uae), interpersonal weaving as interrelatedness between human-beings, intra-personal weaving as historical-construction of the self and its entanglement with our familiar-cultural-patterns, or interrelatedness between mind-body-soul, weaving of the neuronal-network and its dynamic enabling brain-plasticity throughout life, dna spinning … So the Weave of Life, or life as a weaving, at macro-structural, personal or micro-structural level: Life as a loom processing its invisible work.
