Corot door porters in undergrowth in the storm.

Subject: porters against the wind in woodland.
Support: paper blue-green, h = l = 14 X 21 cm. 4Th recovered paper cover «the newspaper artists» (which «appears every Sunday… »). We know that this magazine is published from 1827 to 1870, which however does not give us any «terminal» within the meaning of the word archeology, or ante quem or post quem. We must admit it is not in the habit of drawing on jbc Corot palimpsest or other recovery media (even after 1870… ? ). However the authenticity of the work is not to question given the spontaneity of drawing, the steadiness of his hand, and compliance of the shooting with engraved renderings of the same theme. In addition, bottom, left, one sees the remains of a signature «Corot, » or at least a monogram «cc».
One must also note that this drawing is from a fund absolutely indisputable drawings by Corot, still unpublished. But it should be noted that, among a hundred drawings, it is the only one among them or near, who was on tinted paper. This therefore reflects a little, not by its style, authentic, but its support, share compared with other similar funds (forthcoming). The sketch on the spot, has inspired several similar compositions made by etching or shot-glass.
State:
Recto: a little bit tired, very slightly faded. The edges are intact. Macules of the upper horizontal line may be intentional, to give the feeling of twilight. But it could be that they were spots of contamination.
Verso: traces of old glue to the square, on white paper with felt (without any brand of laid lines). Two brands of collector. Duties: multiple micro-mold ocher-blond, pierced with little support (so that the front is just immaculate).

Conclusions. From the funds cited above, it is unthinkable that this drawing, still marginal compared to that fund, was likely to doubt or questioning. Genuine, we propose the price very reserved: 15. 5Oo € uros, quoting a market four to five times more… For those who can access it!
