Horse steles of this kind have been established in ancient China only in luxury Anwesenund / or in official buildings, to tie the horses. These horses Steele shown here is a decided rarity and represents one of the first Steele Period of the Qing Dynasty (Qing Dynasty to Ming transition period), ie from 1644 to about 1670, but it shows a monkey instead of the mighty lion. It's practically a caricature, a clown show of force against the new rulers of the old ruling elite Ming.
