A pair of blue and gilt Paris porcelain ovoid vases, signed Deroche, with two handles decorated with medallions. The body of the vases is ornamented with two polychrome cartouches representing two bunches of flowers, with a rectangular brown background on one side, and a white oval medallion on the other.
We do not know when Pierre Deroche began to sell porcelain but he appeared for the first time in the list of porcelain merchants in 1801-1802. Maybe Deroche had several porcelain suppliers because he was just a merchant and it seems he was not a decorator.
Very good condition.
Empire Period, Circa: 1815.
Dim: w: 8.3 in - d: 5.1in - h: 15.7in.
