Albatros C.
Baudelaire (The Flowers of Evil) - 1861
Often for fun, the crew. Take
Albatross, huge birds of the sea.
That follow, indolent fellow travelers.
The ship gliding over the bitter depths.
No sooner have they filed on stage.
That these kings of the sky, awkward and ashamed. Keeps you pitifully
Their great white wings.
Like oars lying beside them.
This winged traveler, as he is awkward and weak!
Him, once so beautiful, it is comical and ugly! One
Teases his beak with a short pipe.
Another mimics, limping, the cripple who once flew
The poet is like the prince of the clouds.
Who haunts the tempest and laughs at the archer.
Exiled on the ground amid the boos.
His giant wings prevent him from walking.
I find it interesting paradox of the title that I put (Language of flowers - poppies) and Baudelaire's poem!
