Story of a passion

The last ten years!
Lets raise some money for charity.

Hi a little bit more back ground about me. I have had a very eventful life, the last ten years have been particularly traumatic!

I have been saved by my passion for painting. In the year 2000 I began to feel very unwell, by 2002 it was very evident, eventually I was sent to Hospital for tests, as no one new what it could be.

After five weeks they found I had Lambert Eaton Myasthenia, It usually comes with lung cancer and is very quick.

I have been very lucky as it hasn't come in me. The specialists now don't think it will.

I was then admitted to the John Ratclife Hospital for special treatment, by now I could not walk, feeding was difficult as was breathing, after six weeks of treatment, some of which was very strange, I was able to leave and convalece.

Two months later I returned to work I was a senior construction manager, building some of the countries largest warehouses.

The next six years I forced myself every day to go to work, living mostly away from home! . However I was slowly going down hill.

In 2008 my company finally said enough was enough, building sites and buggies don't go together! So I retired at 57.

What to do… Well I had done some water colours in the past, so this seemed a good idea. Soon every one was saying I should sell some, which I have done.

I have found that it is almost like some one is guiding me as I have now painted 78 paintings, I am an atheist but something is guiding me!

I sit for hours most days, painting away. I have registered with the Taxman as self employeed. Although I don't think I will ever earn enough to pay tax, it just feels right.

I am now only able to walk very short distances and my breathing is very laboured, I have diabetes, sleep apnea, high colestrol, and now cataracts in both eyes which have now been removed no wonder my paintings are a bit colourful! I am still painting away! I am now July 2011 about to move from my lovely Cotswold cottage to warden assisted accomodation, as I have begun to fall far to often.

If you do read this please have a look at all my paintings. If any one reading this buys an original or print, I will donate £5.00 to my favorite charity water aid for every sale.

Thanks for looking, no sales for charity yet! !

David
