The Myth, of the death of the devil by Alberto Thirion

The myth of the Devil's Death

What is a myth?

The death of the devil, is therefore a Mexican myth, because a true artist only discovers the myths of his people, and gives them form, in this case, are the Mexican and Latin American myths, those that appear in my images.

What is a myth?

A myth is not a lie, as some clueless people suppose, a myth is a persistent metaphor, (as somebody rightly said) that is, it is a picture of the collective imagination! ! !

Myths are for example, La Llorona, Pedro Paramo, Quetzalcoatl, etc. A myth is similar to a legend, but it is not the same.

That the performance of the artist is mythical, since very old, we all know, the death of the devil is therefore a Mexican myth, because a true artist only discovers the myths of his people, in this case, the Mexican and Latin American myths… «Myths and beliefs are the heroic struggles to understand the truth in the world »… Ansel Adams

A myth, in short, is that which, without being real, is nevertheless the elaboration of the collective imagination.

Mexicans are given to live a mythical life.

In that universe of the mythical is where it is placed, The death of the devil, for the glory of Mexico! ! !

It is said that, good! They say so many things! ! !

Without gods there are no myths.

The myth, insofar as it is part of the oral tradition (or folklore, as some scholars call it), is anonymous, lacks an identifiable author. For example, no one can say who is the author of the myth concerning the Tenochtitlan Foundation.

I only heard the whispers of the myth and I gave them shape, in a canvas, in some way I pretend to be the author of the myth, of the death of the devil.
