As far as I can remember, I always enjoyed writing, painting and drawing, marry the magic of words and colors, but I does that, since 1992.

These exhibits, which are intentionally rare, are the opportunity to take stock and put my work into perspective, to compare to that of others. These are necessary for progress.

I received quite a few awards, including the gold medal at the Salon de Rive-de-Gier (Loire), 1st Prix du Conseil Général de l'Allier, and I was the guest of honor Salon international du Puy (Haute-Loire) in 1997.

But painting is for me neither a trade nor a complacent and narcissistic display. This is neither a profession nor a hobby. The creation
in the privacy and solitude of the workshop is a necessity, sometimes compelling and urgent therapy often an issue. J'alterne ever periods abstract and figurative, the dark tones and color, to avoid me in a production sclerosis stereotyped. A successful period must give way to another.
A table is both a technical and a witness. I first worked on an oil reagent (melamine lacquered panels) accepting the speed, fluidity, transparency as well as the matte, the trowel and impasto, as well as the excesses of the medium.
Writing is often present and the words, sometimes surreal, come into resonance with the ocean blue, alizarin red, yellow Indian, for moments of eternity, fleeting and soothing.
Since 2000, on an indifferent, I added acrylic (for large flat color), matter more and more present (sand, sawdust, plaster, crushed paper) and that collages (paper and rags), in a slower, more traditional, where the characters are rooted in everyday life.

My world is water, stone, fire, blood, (the storm and volcanoes), but also the free and peaceful man who eats impressions of the past to move step by step, to leave traces even smaller, to those he loves.

It remains to marry these two contradictory worlds, but from age, we can hope to discover one day the mysteries of the philosopher's stone.

Painting is neither for me a business nor a self-indulgent narcissistic display. It is neither a profession (« commercial venture » si tu veux insister sur le côté financier) nor a hobby.
The creation in the intimacy and the solitude of the workshop is a necessity, sometimes pressing and urgent, often a therapy, a liberation. I alternate ceaselessly between the abstract and figurative periods, dark and coloured tones, to avoid becoming fossilised in a stereotyped production. A prosperous period has to give up its place to another.

A picture is at the same time a technique and a testimony. I worked at first oil on a reactive support (enamelled melamine panels) accepting the speed, fluidity, transparency as well as the dullness, the trowel and its pasting, very much as the excesses of medium.

The writing is often present and the words, sometimes surrealist, reflect Caribbean Sea blues, alizarin reds, Indian yellows, for moments of eternity, fugacious and soothing. Since 2000, on an indifferent base, I added acrylic (for wider coloured “aplats”), more and more present material (sand, sawdust, plaster, crushed paper) as well as sticking (papers and rags), in a slower, more traditional work, where the persons are anchored in every day life.

My universe is the water, the stone, the fire, the blood, it is also the free and alleviated man who nourishes prints of the past to advance step by step, to leave traces, even modest, to those whom he loves.
It remains to marry these two contradictory universes but, with the coming of age, one can feed the hope to discover one day the mysteries of the philosopher's stone..

[ArtQuid] seller - Pierre Tichadou

<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="self" href="http://en.artquid.com/rss/seller/tichadou/pierre-tichadou.xml" type="application/rss+xml" />

Totem

More details

Totem

<media:category>Contemporary Art, Paintings, Mixed composition</media:category> <media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
