Paragon Iguana Digital Front-Loading Kilns - Paragon

Price : from $ 3.47 USD Buy Art
The Iguana Kiln by Paragon has power to spare.

Powered by reliable, extra heavy-duty elements, the Iguana promises a longer life than comparable kilns, because the elements do not "struggle" to reach high temperatures.

10,800 watts heat the 22½"H × 18"W × 18"D interior to a full Cone 10 (2350°F).

Easy to install, the 240V Iguana plugs into a standard 6-50R outlet, so it can be fired on the outlet most studio kilns already use.

The Iguana is easy to load, with a 22" stand that raises the interior floor height of the kiln to a comfortable 34½" high.

Industrial-gauge elements are seated and protected in dropped, recessed firebrick grooves.

The elements are easy to replace, because users can comfortably reach into the kiln.

Potters and ceramicists who struggle with top-loading kilns will enjoy the Iguana.

The door swings open wide on a heavy ½" steel rod with sealed bearings.

A spring-loaded latch presses the door tightly closed.

A recessed firebrick lip around the door seals in heat.

The Sentry digital controller is unsurpassed in reliability for a controller in its price range.

It includes a programmed cool-down , Cone-Fire and Ramp-Hold modes, and is capable of accepting types K, R, or S thermocouples.

A Type-K thermocouple with an Inconel sheath is a standard feature.

(A Type-S thermocouple is recommended for firing stoneware and porcelain.) The Sentry also tracks how much energy is being used when users program the kiln's wattage and the cost of electricity into the controller.

Experimenting with firing speed, load density, and other factors can result in energy savings.

A safety switch shuts off the power to the Sentry controller when not in use.

A ventilated switch box is generously louvered for air circulation, assuring long life of the electrical components — yet dust is kept to a minimum.
