Robert Finch is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and resides in Santa Fe New Mx. His work has been labeled by some as mystical impressionism. His medium is mixed media on canvas and photography.
As a student Finch lived in both New York city and Paris France. Once in New York he studied the city of Manhattan as a global cultural hub where life and art of the 21st century met. While in Paris he spent time studying art, language and history frequnting regularly places such as The Louvre Museum and Pompidou Centre. His travels to Rome, Florence, Turkey, Morroco, Spain, Portugal and the European Riviera also had a significant impact on Finch's life and work. During this time as a student, Finch found Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko as well as Michael Angelo, Picasso, Miro, Chagall, Matisee, Kandinsky, Van Gogh and countless others to be an inspiration, some of whose influence may be seen in his work today. From the more Rennaisance effect found in «Oppression of Divine Feminine» to the more Rothko style «Blue» or «Yellow» as well, one can see multiple influences in a single work. Finch began painting and creating as a child. Making his way as an artist in the professional arena, Finch has worked with flowers, interior spaces, photography, film, paint and canvas. Finch draws tremendous inspiration from his interest in the Spirit world and has been a student of a Course in Miracles/ACIM for over 18 years. He also finds inspiration in nature and travel. «Finch uses a variety of instruments to apply brilliant colors of acrylic paint on canvases which charm the eye and warm the heart. His creative expression is unusually abstract, mystical and impressionistic. Something everyone should have the opportunity to see. » Arij Gasiunasen |
