This is an original oil painting on canvas panel, offered direct from the artist's studio. It is complemented with a wooden profiled frame in a soft black finish. Chris Kendrick is an exciting contemporary artist based in the historic city of Norwich in the uk. His work can be regularly seen in London galleries, throughout the uk and in mainland Europe.
The exhibition is of new still life compositions on show for the first time. It comprises mainly small-scale, intimate paintings in oils on canvas panel, and I use traditional transparent glazing and stippling techniques to build up layers of vivid colours and to create the effects of depth and light and shade within the paintings.
My paintings have a traditional feel, often partly inspired by looking at the works of the Dutch'Pronk'school and by Spanish art of the 17th century, but the way I employ colour I think firmly roots them in the contemporary world.
