Manolo Valdés is one of the biggest names in the Spanish art scene. Within his work highlights his sculptural and pictorial. After the dissolution of Equipo Crónica in 1981, a group which was part Manolo Valdes, the artist continued his career independently.

Obviously the work of Manolo Valdés has the pictorial heritage of Equipo Crónica, but also in their works we can highlight many and varied influences, such as the Iberian art and the aesthetic view of the Mediterranean.

Some of the paintings highlighted by Manolo Valdés, are: Lady with white headdress, Chiara i, Botticelli as a pretext, and Youth with hat ocher. At the beginning of the last decade of the twentieth century, his paintings began to flood and still lifes of everyday objects. Outstanding in his painting numerous portraits of women, as well as different versions of the Infanta Margarita and Las Meninas.
