This chest was of a upper class men. It is made of paulownia wood for panel which is considered to be moisture proof and bug resistant, much as cedar is in the West, and pear wood for the frames and decorated by white brass fittings. The front of the chest is composed of long planks and poems are imprinted on the upper and lower part. This piece was used in the sarangbang or local governor’s resident. Dating back to 1850s from Gyunggi province. Comes with an original certificate.
