I have been interested in the Elgin marbles in the British Museum. Remind me so much of the French neo-Classicism of Poussin, Ingres, David and Delacroix which I love. Particularly since beginning my transition and experiencing my body in a new way I rejoice in the freshness of these carvings-2500 years old at least and how it suits my pastel technique of'carving with light'and rediscovering the depiction of the human fom in an un-stereotyped way.
