Le Quai des Orfevres left the Seine and in the background the Saint Michel is cut into a succession of shots from the blue twilight. Le Quai des Orfevres, South Island City, named after the presence of jewelers in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The Judicial Police was installed on the Quai des Orfevres, along the Seine, in buildings of the Palais de Justice rebuilt after the fire of 1871 caused by the insurrection of the Paris Commune.
