This painting is taken from a photograph of a house by the bank of the River Xingu in Brazilian Amazonia, a tributary of the Amazon River. The house is far from any town, and so only seasonally inhabited. Trees from other photographs of the rainforest were taken and used in the painting. It is oil on recycled cardboard, paint applied using a plastic plant label. Application this way renders a rough surface to the image, and helps to create an impressionistic style.
