Fractures. Martine Boyer Martine Boyer

Collage on canvas - 2007

This can illustrate the myth of Orpheus.

Son of Apollo, like him, he continued harmony and beauty.
Love Eurydice bitten by a snake at the wedding
He descends into the underworld Hades and asks his return to earth.
This one lays down one condition: «Do not turn» on Eurydice during ascent.
Orpheus turns back due to lack of confidence and loses everything.
On land, he refused the advances of maenads and is dismembered.
Head rolls on the ground… It is catastérisé, transformed into a star.
