The falling figure is borrowed from; an engraving by F. Masereel. There the woman emerges from the water of a gloomy harbour in the North. The figure is transposed again the background Of a grand Alpilles Mountain with the ruins of Les Baux de Provence. The Fall is being revisited in a new context.
