The influence for the animal style of depiction stems from Ian's personal admiration of the works by German Expressionist painter, Franz Marc who sadly was prematurely killed in the First World War. The scene is of deer returning to the hills resting for water. The fields in front of them hide rabbits adjacent to the contours of the land.
