Field of Tulips, Amsterdam. Miriam Besa 1945
Having enjoyed my four days in Amsterdam, I will treasure this memorable image.
Racing clouds hover over a small quaint town in Amsterdam, with houses in their traditional deep red colored roofs. The windmill, which is centrally positioned in my painting, deserves our attention, not only because it harmoniously complete the landscape, it is also functional. It helps the village fight water shortage. The position of the sails of the windmill speaks its own language, which is clear to all who can read it. The sails turn counterclockwaise. In this instance, they signal “rest for a long period. ” Hence, we have the water pond tranquil and quiet, shimmery in this beauty.
Tourists and locals alike, savor this sight of kaleidoscope rows of red, pink, purple, magenta, yellow and orange tulip bulbs basking in the sun.
Just near you, are blooming giant purple and pink tulips to pick and take with you to your homes - to give you a lasting impression as it gave me.
