A Path into the Woods. Miriam Besa 1945
Robert Louise Stevenson, a Scottish poet, inspired me to create this painting, through his quote: “It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon mens’ hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit. ”

Why a triptych (each panel measures 14» X 22») - because I want you to savor the slow and deep self-involvement as your eyes take in one panel at a time. This entails basking in the forest’s atmosphere as you move slowly, calmly and mindfully, soaking it in through all five senses. This is, the healing power of nature.

Walking along a path in a forest gives you a slightly different sense of your surroundings. Instead of looking up at the trees, people tend to stroll near the leaves and flowers making their way between the branches. Until their sense of being is lost in the mist of the deep and become one with the refreshing beauty of nature.
