Andromeda on black b is my 2020 digital construction of the myth of Andromeda. This is part of my series of updating the works of Titian and Caravaggio, using new tools and a new approach. I posed, photographed my goddess and wrapped her in fractal tattoos and patterns to present my version of the myth. Sensual beauty, other-worldliness and the tension of impending doom by the sea monster inspired this work. Andromeda was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to the gods for being too beautiful… She narrowly escapes. My version is presented as photographically detailed as possible to puzzle the viewer with her tattoos and ask if this is a photograph or a dream or a construction. My master is printed 1 of 1.30w» X 15h» on high gloss aluminum. Reproductions are available here at various sizes on assorted surfaces.
