Andromeda on brown Is my 2020 digital construction of the myth of Andromeda. This is part of my series of updating the works of Titian and Caravaggio, using new tools and a new approach. I pose, photograph and then layer my goddess in fractal tattoos and patterns to present my version of the myth. Sensual beauty, other-worldliness and the tension of impending doom by the sea monster inspired this work. Andromeda was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to the gods for being too beautiful… She narrowly escaped. My version is presented as photographically detailed as possible using fractal and painting software. We ask where this fluid, other-worldly place is and why is she tattooed like this? My master is printed 1 of 1.30w» X 20h» on high gloss aluminum. Reproductions are available here at various sizes on assorted surfaces.
