Created during a time of significant change for me, this work, from my “Darwin Period”, is a deeply moving and, in some ways, graphic depiction of death and separation. At the same time, its very creation opened the way for new possibilities by exorcising demons, which may well have entrenched themselves in his catalogue and inhibited the vast body of styles he went on to embrace
