Canvas emoi
My passion for painting dates from my childhood, primary school, already, I was noticed for my decorative friezes ornamented our books at the end of each day.
My first painting was a reproduction of Modigliani to my fourteen years, then a white horse on a blue background followed a few years later, inspired by «Stewball» the song of Hugues Aufray.
Paintings hung on the picture rails of the birthplace forever.
My subjects have long been painted nature in a rather classical and applied.
In recent years, I am attracted by a more abstract expression. Everything can be inspiring: the shadows cast on the ground, urban ensembles, the seashores, but the backgrounds on television or in the movies, etc… Blurry pictures or simply a search of crayonnant «masses» hatched grease pencil on a piece of paper at any time of the day according to time, mood, location, dreams…
My work revolves around a few key criteria that I try to apply as: balance, composition, light, color harmony, creating matter.
Technical ? I do not know.
I work with wide brushes (8cm) in short and thin hairs, I remove hair in thickness and sometimes I right cut 1cm, I also like a rather large knife or sticks crates I hesitate long before the canvas, sometimes I scratch everything I set and I again.
I often put myself in question, it is the fight between the canvas, oils, tools, the idea and I like to come back the next day and two days later in the half dry matter. It takes shape and is accomplished gradually.
But there comes a painting is executed in 2 hours as «death Valmiki» for example.
It's a passion that steady rhythm and balance life, even if we do not amateur painters practiced, it will certainly fail, and then as everyone knows, the «major work» is one that has not yet seen the day.
It is for this that I continue the work for the unimaginable moment that will make me a memorable artist.
