My early career was in the uk film industry working on feature films and adverts as a scenic artist and sometimes as an art director. I also continued to pursue my own interests painting a range of subjects in oils and acrylics. In the early 1990s I had a major change in direction when I started working with fluorescent pigments on very large scale images. These banners formed a travelling exhibition which was shown at indoor and outdoor events and festivals around the world.
My travels to Japan, Central and South America, usa, Russia, Israel and many European countries gave me much inspiration for my work. In 2010 and 2012 I had exhibitions in London of smaller paintings more suitable for the domestic environment but for many years I have used the Internet and Facebook in particular, as a platform for my new work and as a way of keeping in touch with many friends internationally who have followed my art over the years. I enjoy working on both figurative and abstract images, always striving to make paintings that will give enjoyment and reassurance to the viewer and that often link strongly to the highest aspirations in cultures past and present. |
