While living in Paris, Patrice Castillejos thought only of escape from the bustle of the megalopolis, as soon as his schedule allowed him, to distant destinations with the sweet scent of exotic, until he discovers by chance the Basque country and falls in love. There
Deposited his bags two decades ago and has naturally begun to paint what he saw of the land, ocean and men, between tides, strength and fragility, in light of except where the shades of the sky is a journey unto itself. And this dazzling Need to translate onto canvas the emotion he felt at the soft roughness of people, rocks, landscapes, has not left since, becoming a daily necessity. Besides his painting, he produced illustrations for publication, the latest just published in June 2010. He has exhibited at the International Fair in Kyoto, Japan, Anthology of the Arts of Biarritz, Bayonne Expressions gallery, and regularly attends events in the region pictorial. |
